NIP’s Youth Programs strive to improve the academic outcomes of North Minneapolis children and youth by providing after-school academic and youth development programming. Five ways to support the Youth Program:
Good Grades and Games is an extended day tutoring program for students, grades three and four. Individual volunteers and volunteer groups are needed to provide one-to-one and cooperative group tutoring. Special guests are also needed to share unique skills/talents and to expose participants to a variety of social and cultural activities.
Mentor a Child Give back to the community by mentoring a child! NIP Youth Programs are looking for volunteers for their youth mentoring program. Volunteers will be matched with a middle school child and work with them every Thursday evening for 1 hour. Mentors and mentees can work on homework, play a board game, talk about issues that arise, and have fun! If this sounds like something you’re interested in, contact Whitney Jones, Youth Program Assistant at 612-276-1523 or [email protected].
