Community Education
Speakers are available to provide education and information about sexual violence to schools and organizations in the Twin Cities. Our age-appropriate sexual violence prevention presentations are one hour to two days in length (depending on the age level). They are offered to preschool, primary, secondary schools, businesses, and community organizations. Presentations in schools range from Safe Touch/Unsafe Touch (formally Good Touch/Bad Touch) for elementary grades, sexual harassment for middle schools and date rape for high schools. These presentations educate students about sexual assault, abuse, harassment, and teach students how to protect themselves. This is a free service (donations are always appreciated). Call us at 612-374-9077 to find out further information and for scheduling a presentation. |
Individual Psychotherapy and Counseling
RSAC offers individual psychotherapy to adolescent and adult survivors of sexual violence. Therapy focuses on the reduction of symptoms of depression, anxiety and other symptoms often associated with sexual victimization. In addition, therapy helps clients process their experiences, gain support and strength and address areas of their lives that have been impacted by the abuse or assault. Things like intimate relationships, sexuality, career issues, parenting, grief and loss are commonly affected. Therapy sessions are confidential and are provided by caring and experienced mental health professionals and supervised volunteers. Fees are negotiated on a sliding scale which considers the client's income and ability to pay. Some insurance plans are accepted. If a client's insurance is not accepted, they are welcome to utilize the sliding fee scale for fee assessment. Call 612-374-9077 to schedule an appointment or stop by our South Office to complete an intake. |
